28 Weeks

Things just don't ever seem to slow down here lately. I had a four day weekend and it was so nice. But, it was filled with many different things. We have been looking at houses for about the last month or so and had put an offer in on a foreclosure. It has been about 2 weeks since we put the offer on it but still have not heard anything. But, on Friday we went to look at about 5 more houses and found one that we loved. It is an older home, built in 1980, but was totally remodeled in November through January. It is very cute and just enough space for what we need at this time. It is in a more developed neighborhood also so there are advances of having trees and things like that. Well, we put the offer in Friday afternoon after looking in the morning and we heard back from our agent at 5:30 that night that they had accepted and he had already moved the paperwork on to where it needed to be. Saturday and Sunday, Jerimiah worked and I rested and today we were filled up again. A week and a half ago I found out that I have gestational diabetes so this morning I met with the dietician to come up with meal plans from now until May. What a pain this is going to be. I also will need to poke myself 4 times a day to keep track of my glucose numbers. Then, this afternoon we were off to the house to meet our agent and while we were there the inspector did his thing and the air conditioner man checked all that out. Earlier this morning the pest control guy had been there so all that is taken care of already. The close date we are shooting for at this time is March 6, as long as all goes well the reat of the way. We are very excited. This is an answer to pray as we now know where we will be moving when the apartment lease is up. I will post more pictures after we get in a settled. My first big project when we move in is to set the nursery up and I am way excited!! That's all for now.

26 Weeks

It is hard to believe that this is the 26 week. I go to the doctor tomorrow afternoon for an appointment. They will be doing the diabetes test and I really hope I pass because I do not want to have to take the 3 hour test. After this appointment I will be starting to go every 2 weeks instead of every 4. That's all for now.

It's Time for an Update

So, I guess it has almost been a month since we have written anything so I will update. Nothing too much has been going on beside the same old same old.

Christmas was nice. We spent the night over at Jerimiah's parents and then had Christmas Day with all the Kindrick's. Christmas break was spent running errands and getting things done during the day that I can't do while I am teaching during the day. Jerimiah and I checked out a few new apartment complexes as we are trying to figure out where we are going to live when our lease is up at the end of March. We still don't know, pray for us that we can get this all figured out.

Jerimiah and I both went back the first week of January and we are still getting into the new schedule. He has classes on Tuesday and Thursday all day and has been working as much as possible at Home Depot on the other days. They are finally rotating weekends so he will actually have this coming Saturday and Sunday off. I am very excited about that!

My dad and Brenda made a long weekend trip down to visit the first weekend of the new year. It was nice to see them again and have them visit. Me, my dad and Brenda visited the San Jacinto Monument and the Battleship Texas over in La Porte. Jerimiah had to work that day so he did not join us, but we did visit El Jarrito Mexican Restaurant when he finished work. This was where we had our rehearsal dinner and my dad loves it. I think it will be a stop each time he is in town. :) That is okay with me though because it is great food.

This past weekend, we got our nursery furniture. Yeah! Except now it is all piled up in our dining/office area as we figure out where our next move will be. I have been the cleaning/organizing queen Jerimiah says, so this is killing me that it is just stacked up because we also have the bedding for it and so now all I want to do is decorate and organize. Oh well, that time will come soon enough.

Also, I plan on having Jerimiah take a picture of me at 24 weeks. My kids at school are not shy about it and there is a little girl in my class that tells me everyday that my belly is bigger. They are so honest at 6 years old!

Well, that is all for now. Hopefully it won't be another month before there is an update.

Happy Holidays

Merry Christmas Ya'll! Hope you are all enjoying this holiday season. I'm very glad to be done with school for the next two weeks, it has been nice to have no big plans and being able to sleep in and get some rest.

Cathy flys in tomorrow afternoon and I think we are all ready and excited to see her. From the time she gets in we will be busy getting things ready for Thursday as Christmas with the Kindrick's will be held at their house. Me, Jerimiah and Griffin (our dog) will be spending the night over there tomorrow night and it should be fun. For me, this marks a new milestone as I truly believe this is the first Christmas not to be spent with anyone from my side of the family. My dad and Brenda will be in Fairfax, my sister will be in Thailand and the rest of the family scattered throughout as they normal are.

This time of the year can always be the hardest for me. Mom's birthday is December 7 and then follow that up with Christmas. She loved this time of the year. Or seemed too and always stressed her self way out with making sure she got just the right presents for everyone. That was the type of person she was. In all her suffering and trials that she went through, she was always more concerned with caring for others and thinking about others. We were very lucky. I remember taking many trips back and forth, especially when she could not drive anymore so that she could get all her shopping complete for me, my sister and dad. I guess this is why this time of year has now become so special to me. Although it has been 4 years since Mom has been gone, it is still hard. But the good memories that come with past holiday's make me smile and remember all the good times we all shared together. Whether we were home in Sioux Center, or stuck in a blizzard on our way to North Dakota, the memories will be there forever.

So I end with wishing you all a Merry Christmas and enjoy this time. Whether you are at home or gathering around with your families, I wish you all safe travels and good memories!

Lazy Saturday

17 Weeks
Hi all,

Not to much going on here. Jerimiah worked from 6 this morning until about 4:30 and I pretty much watched tv and stayed in my pj's all day long. It was nice just to relax and have nothing to do. We spent sometime over at his parent's tonight because in the morning Cathy is leaving for 2 weeks to start her new job at the North Slope of Alaska. She is doing document control for an oil company and will work 2 weeks on and then have 2 weeks off back here in Houston. She will fly home Christmas Eve so we are glad she will be back in time for the holidays.

Other then that, not too much going on this weekend. Jerimiah has finals this week and I am down to 2 weeks of school before the winter break. The kids are starting to get anxious for a break so it may be a long 10 days with them. Good thing we have lots of holiday activities planned for them.

That's all for now.
